6D Helmets Introduces Groundbreaking ATB-2T MTB Helmet
Helmet-safety pioneer’s latest offering provides improved safety performance through Advanced ODS technology
April 12, 2022 (Monterey, CA) – During the 2022 Sea Otter Classic Bike Festival, 6D Helmets unveiled its all-new 5-Star rated ATB-2T MTB Trail Helmet. The ATB-2T features a new and refined version of the company’s award-winning Omni-Directional Suspension™ technology as well as numerous new features to enhance overall comfort and safety.
6D revolutionized helmet design with the 2013 introduction of the ATR-1 dirt bike helmet, whose ODS technology set new standards in brain protection by providing protection over a broader range of energy demands. Since that introduction in 2013, 6D has evolved their technology into multiple new helmets in the motorsports and bicycle markets including the ATB-1 full-face downhill/BMX helmet and the ATB-1T MTB Helmet. The ATB-2T utilizes the company’s 4th generation ODS technology.

The ATB-2T’s ODS system is highlighted by a new Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) multi-impact inner liner design featuring damping towers and a series of elastomeric isolation dampers, assisting in progressive loading of the ODS system during impacts. The award-winning system provides unmatched performance in Low Speed, High Speed, and Angular impacts, all encased in a lightweight fully ventilated trail helmet. The ATB-2T has been awarded a 5-star Virginia Tech rating and exceeds the NTA 8776 E-Bike Standard.
In addition to the new ODS system, the helmet received a 7% weight reduction and a new slimmer profile. A new brow vent and numerous ventilation ports have been added for significantly improved flow-thru ventilation. The shell features an integrated sunglass dock to hold glasses when not in use and the detachable visor has 3 adjustment positions and is goggle compatible. On the inside the 2T utilizes an ionic+™ antimicrobial comfort liner and features a proprietary new fit system to go along with the Fidlock™ magnetic closure. The ATB-2T includes adhesive fit pads to custom tailor fit as well as a mesh travel bag to keep your helmet protected when not in use.
